Promoting Traffic Splash update..

February 9th, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

Hi all,

In my last post I was rambling on and on about my efforts to pick up referrals for Traffic Splash.

Well, I have good news and bad news.

The Good News, is that my ad on rent a list is doing fairly well. Not as good as I’d hoped, but pretty good regardless. So far I’ve picked up another 20 referrals. Of which, one member upgraded to PRO for a year at sign up giving me a $29.98 commission. Another one of my referrals is doing the Monthly Pro Upgrade ( $4.98 commission for me ). My ad on Rent a List still isn’t finished yet so I’m sure I’ll see a few more refs. Plus I have an ad on AdPaid and a two month banner on Wordlinx starting soon. I also just paid a bit too much for a lottoclix spot on PPClix. So I should be seeing refs trickle in over the next couple months from what I have running.

UPDATE 3-21-09… Referrals level now at 137.

The Bad News, I’ve only picked up 40 referrals in the last week for Traffic Splash. I did a butt load of advertising and I honestly expected at least 100 refs. Oh well, I think I know what the problem might be.
I think the stigma of being a “Surf” site has a lot of potential members confusing a “Traffic Exchange” with an Auto-Surf or “Ponzi Scheme”. The difference is that the ONLY way to make money off of Traffic Exchanges is to bring in referrals that buy advertising credits or upgrades (memberships ).

So Repeat after me. “Ponzi Bad, Traffic Exchange Goooood”.

Going to watch SpongeBob with my son now
I’ll write more tomorrow

okay, I’m really leaving now.

Yah know Phil, Traffic Splash is a good traffic exchange but it’s not the only one that will get you hits to your sites. You could also use a few others and get lots more traffic to your page for free.
Check out my blog and you’ll see how I’m doing it. It might be something to think about.

Hope you a lot of success in ’09,
    Becky

Your right traffic exchanges do work. Not only for getting signups to a mailing list or getting traffic to a site but they will also put a little money in your pocket while you are doing it. If you get enough referrals surfing with the credits you earn off their surfing you do not have to buy traffic or surf and you make money doing it. Not a bad deal.

    @Bo Tipton
    Thanks for the comment Bo.
I think there’s still a ton of people who confuse TE’s with Auto-Surfs, Investment Surfs and Ponzi Scheme’s.
    Have a great weekend.
