PayPal saves the day! Oh and a bunch of other stuff

So we’ve been throwing around the idea of getting a dog the last couple weeks. I sort of had my heart set on a Shiba Inu, but since I have young children I’ve learned that, that particular breed might not be my best choice. Another breed we’ve been tossing around ( not literally ) is the Dachshund. Although I really don’t want a Dachshund, I would love to have a shirt that says “Beware of my Wiener”. It sort of fits my sense of humor and a Dachshund would easily fit through our cats ( Gray ) cat doors. Unfortunately Dachshunds ( badger dogs ) our born diggers, and I’d be pretty pissed if I came home one day to find my garden looking like a mine field. So I’ll sadly give up the opportunity to wear an almost offensive tee shirt…..damn.

We’ve pretty much decided that an Australian Sheppard would be a perfect fit for our family. Unfortunately our back yard is a bit small and since my wife and I really aren’t home most of the day, it would be totally selfish of us to own a dog ( of any breed ) at this point. So until one or both of us are work at home parents and buy a house with a much larger back yard, adding a new family member will have to wait. Don’t tell my four year old daughter that though, she thinks we are getting a puppy for Christmas. Which according to her calender is sometime tomorrow.

So yeah. Add “To someday own a dog” to the list of “Why I want to succeed online”. Also, add.. “to someday have a lawn large enough to justify a riding lawn mower”. That’s really my little dream. Me riding around cutting the lawn for an hour listening to the Giants vs Dodgers. Of course I’d have an ice chest and cup holder installed, just in case I got thirsty ( just in case ).

Anyways. Anyone who owns a home knows that you don’t actually “own” your home. Rather your home owns you. Luckily we purchased our house newly built so we haven’t had to make any major repairs or renovations in the last six years. Although little things like property tax’s pop up a couple times a year. For us it means $1500 twice a year. Or something like that ( ask my wife she writes the checks ). So that was $1500 less this month that we normally would have enjoyed. So our funds were a bit short this month.

Now, if you’ve been following this blog for the last couple months, you know I’ve been ranting about reinvesting the money we make online back into making more money. I look at it like stocking a store full of inventory. If I don’t keep my shelves stocked ( referrals, subscriptions, etc..) I’ll never see the real money in the future. Well the last couple weeks saw very little growth in regards to “inventory”, or rather growing my earnings. Since we were a bit short on funds, my paypal debit card and the earnings I’ve been making online all went for things like gas, food, and the occasional beer. So Paypal saves the day! Or rather, my efforts saved the last couple weeks. A minor set back in my plans for internet domination but I’m glad I had those online earnings to cover things the past couple weeks. Really sucks though because I had some brilliant plans for that money.

Oh well, stay the course and move on to the next week.

That’s all for me tonight.. just wanted to get a post up and ramble a bit. I think I’m all caught up with email and comment reply’s. Hopefully I didn’t forget anyone.

Phil ( philsfault ) Ames

Oh crap… I’m not going to be available for the next couple days and I totally almost forgot to share the hot news this week ( mostly according to me ).

Hits4Pay is throwing a ton of daily emails at us the last couple weeks. It’s nice that a few ( dozen ) of my referrals that I picked up five years ago are still active. Cha Ching for me!!

I was cleaning up my bookmarks a few days ago and ran across a cool little website I joined a few months ago. “Instant Cash Sweepstakes”. I think I’ll keep this one. Basically, you complete short questionnaires and are rewarded with tickets, coins, and even cash ( my biggest reward was three cents ). Coins are used to purchase tickets, and tickets are used for the daily $50 lottery draw. What I really like about this simple program is that I earn a matching bonus from my referrals wins ( You ). Payout to PayPal is at $2 and I don’t see a limit on how often we can cash out. Cool, guess I’ll add this one to my list of “98 things I want to promote today”…

Okay, really going to bed now. There’s more I wanted to get to, and share.. but I’m really tired. Perhaps next week I’ll write before One A.M.!!

    Yo Phil,

Best all around family dog is a Brittany. I used to raise them and they are faantastic. They practically do not shed, love to smooze with the family, and great for hunting if you want. You should check them out.

Oh, I have my riding lawn mower. Paying for the expense by mowing a yard down the street. *S*

    Thanks Joyce!!

The “Brittany” is another consideration. I did a bit of research on the breed and instantly added it to the list. My wife loves Spaniels so that’s a big bonus. I’m not a hunting kinda guy, so a frisbee is all my dog is going to retrieve. Thanks for the suggestion!

You can have one of my dogs Phil :) Just be sure to do a lot of research before you pick one. All breeds are different and some are better with older children than they are with infants and toddlers. Also, if you can please rescue a dog. If you can’t please don’t get your dog through a pet store. Find a reputable breeder. Ok, that’s my two cents, if you can’t tell I’m an animal lover :)

    @Virginia

    Hey Virginia,

Not to worry. We are doing our research. Thanks to Joyce’s suggestion we also added the “Brittany” to the mix. When we are ready to buy a dog we will most definitely purchase from a breeder. To own a dog right now would be selfish of us because my wife and I are busy with work and stuff. Until one or both of us are able to be work at home type people the new addition to our family will have to wait.

Thanks for the comment as usual.
